December e-news

Subscribe to our monthly e-newsletter here to receive your own copy.

It’s our last e-news for 2010 and a summer break is looming.

The first six months of 2011 look busy with our annual Big Day Off sale in January; the Oral History Association biennial conference April 2nd & 3rd followed by trips to MusikMesse in Frankfurt and NAB 2011 in Las Vegas. Rumours of another Pro Audio Showcase in July persist and we’ll have confirmation in early 2011. Of course there’s the Rugby World Cup not long after.
But first (take a deep breath), a time to relax and spend time with family and friends. Summer holidays are almost here.
While you’re relaxing you can still keep in touch with Sound Techniques so read on, click the links, ask us questions and keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for the latest breaking news on developments, new products, upgrades and developments here and abroad…

We’ve already tracked down a few old friends and discovered gems like the Women’s Audio Mission “a San Francisco based non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of women in music production and the recording arts.”
Wellington visit
Stephen visited Wellington at the beginning of the month. He visited clients and held a mini product showcase of equipment such as the Sound Devices CL-9 mixer for the 788T recorder, the Sonosax SX-ES64 mixer and the new Sound Devices USB Pre 2 PC interface.
Sorry if he missed crossing paths with you and if he’s forgotten to answer your questions please remind him.
Nagra LB-S recorder
Development on alternative versions of the Nagra LB has been discontinued.
It became apparent that the machine cannot be made to function without the top circuit as it needs the additional processing power. Thus it would be very expensive for us to correct this which sort of defeats the object of making a cheaper version!
If you were waiting for the Nagra Audio LB 2-channel recorder option with timecode or without the top panel editing facility you should discuss other options such as the Sound Devices 702, 702T, or 722 recorders
Nagra 2-channel mic pre-amp
This is likely to be available in our autumn. More news on specific features in the New Year.
